Fall is shaping up to be sexy. NOW presents a maxi selection of mini skirts for the season.

If the mini skirt has made its star on the catwalks, it is because it is back for a very “caliente” fall season! The mini for a maxi effect! But when was the first mini skirt and how did it evolve since?

Back in 1962, when a certain Mary Quant, fashion designer in London, created the miniskirt. A symbol of independence and feminism for the time. Despite its prohibition in some countries, the mini-skirt quickly came to the forefront. Shortly after the introduction of the contraceptive pill (in 1961), the mini skirt worn by the supermodel Twiggy, shook the standards and changed the course of things for years to come. Adopted by women around the world, it will be the designer André Courrèges, who integrates it in his haute couture show in 1965, the mini skirt twirls and adapts to all styles. Brigitte Bardot will be among the most beautiful ambassadors of the mini-skirt in the 60s and 70s …

2021 and the mini skirt remains in the center of all the attentions. Seen and seen again by the designers, worn by the biggest celebrities and put forward in numerous films, the skirt is timeless. Of different fabrics, with shimmering colors as well as more sober, it remains always at the top.

The mini skirt on the runway

One of the trends A/W 21 (fall/winter 2021) the real or fake fur. What if you dared to wear a fur mini skirt like Saint Laurent? The big House proposes an evening look, combining a dark blue mini skirt with a fur bottom with a fitted blazer of the same color as the skirt.
The blazer is a safe bet to combine with a mini skirt, just like the House of Chanel which presents a mauve mini skirt with a matching blazer, just to embrace the pastel trend even in the fall.

We also fell in love with the mini skirt seen by Celine, which opts for a fluid skirt, all in the movement. Easy to wear for young people, without falling into the too sexy.
Leather never goes out of fashion and is back in force this season. Off White offers a mini skirt in blue leather with a blazer of the same material and color. The “powerful woman” look par excellence.

Mini – look ideas

The blazer from Saint Laurent is ideal to combine with a mini skirt. The latter will create a very chic and elegant look, perfect for mid-season and with a touch of fur on the mini skirt, we crack! The little trick in addition? Beautiful jewelry, for a very sophisticated look.
If you prefer oversize, do like Chanel. Oversize, the blazer will create a masculine look still at the top for the fall.
To approach the cold in mini, opt for flesh-colored or black opaque tights, as presented by many designers during Fashion Week.

Do you dream of a flowing mini skirt? This one is ideal for September, to wear with a leather jacket or a big sweater for a sporty-chic effect ! We particularly like this look with sneakers or ankle boots.

Finally, if you dare leather…Dare the leather mini skirt! But be careful not to make the look too obvious. We suggest a white blouse to soften the whole. To combine with her favorite pumps and her most beautiful bag. A style to keep for special occasions.

As for the colors of the mini skirt, it is mainly the earthy or pastel colors that dominate. You can choose between black, brown, beige, light blue and purple. With a touch of fur, leather or simple, the mini skirt has been sublimated by our favorite designers.

Nice selection NOW of mini skirts present in local stores and stores. Now it’s your turn to wear the mini with maxi style!
