From May 25, 2024 to January 19, 2025, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne invites you to immerse yourself in the three emblematic editions of the Paris Olympic Games: 1900, 1924 and 2024.
A 360° audiovisual experience
Unlike traditional museum exhibitions, “Paris Olympique™” features an immersive audiovisual show with minimal text to maximize immersion. Accessible to all ages and regardless of language, this 19-minute journey on the second floor of the museum takes you on a circular tour divided into four captivating themes.
1. Olympic venues in Paris
This theme explores the relationship between the Olympic Games and the city of Paris, highlighting the evolution of this connection over the past 124 years.
2. Sports and Olympic Champions
Here, visitors discover the extraordinary athletes and varied disciplines of the Games, from traditional sports like pelota to newcomers like breaking.
3. Paris Games identity
This segment puts into perspective the transformation of the Paris Olympic Games, from the anonymous 1900 edition as part of the Universal Exhibition to the grandiose events planned for 2024.
4. Entertainment and Culture at the Paris Games
Opening and closing ceremonies, art competitions and cultural events are explored to show the impact of arts and culture on the Paris Olympic Games.
Interactive zones and immersive experiences
For total immersion, the exhibition features several interactive zones:
- Paris 1900 Swimming Simulation : Test your skills in the “200 m with obstacles” swimming event, where you have to climb poles, go over rows of boats and swim under another.
- Paris Rope Climb 1924 : Challenge yourself to new heights by trying rope climbing.
Olympic Uniforms and Augmented Reality
Admire the official outfits of the Paris 2024 French Olympic team, the result of a collaboration between Le Coq Sportif and designer Stéphane Ashpool. Also immerse yourself in the Paris of yesteryear with augmented reality experiences available via the official Paris 2024 app, downloadable from Google PlayStore and Apple App Store.
