We knew that accessories made from vegetable-based leather found favor with Generation Z, but now this awareness is clearly gaining ground with more committed consumers. NOW has been hunting, but unarmed, to find the most beautiful vegan accessories of the season.
From big name designers to young local brands, there’s something for everyone!
STELLA MC CARTNEY
Tote Bag Frayme
Stella McCartney is one of the pioneering fashion designers in this field, vegan of course! Her Falabella bag model released in 2010 was a phenomenal success. Since then, we find every year new models, all more attractive than the others with a trendy but eco-responsible look. We chose a new Stella McCartney bag, the Frayme tote bag, revisited and iconic Stella, made in Alter Mat grained, the alternative vegan luxury leather. This tote bag is framed with an oversized version of the iconic Falabella chain and is updated with a mix of galvanized metals.
GENNY
The Shopper Bag
The Italian brand Genny and its ultra-feminine fashion has also taken the turn of a sustainable and environmentally responsible fashion. Some models of handbags, to find this season, are made of apple residue and organic cotton. Here is the black and white shopper bag from the brand, proudly displaying its origins “Made in Italy”.
ALLURE SAUVAGE
La Charmeuse
Allure Sauvage is a Franco-Swiss brand that chooses luxury, yet ethical and cruelty-free alternatives to vegetable-based leather. Their collections are currently made with Piñatex®, made from pineapple leaf fibers. This brand is the first to offer this embroidered textile, and the first to create accessories from this material in Switzerland. La Charmeuse is the name of this modern and stylish bag model, decorated with hand and snake embroidery, to be worn in the city as well as in the evening.
TOMMY HILFIGER
Computer Backpack
There is also cactus leather, a good vegetable alternative to high-end leather guaranteed without animal abuse and produced in an environmentally responsible way. The brand Tommy Hilfiger has released some models in this new vegetable material, we selected the vegan laptop backpack. A practical and comfortable bag with padded details, padded straps and multiple interior pockets to store everything you need for your travels.
RIVE CLAIRE
The Little Nomad Bag
Rive Claire is a young Swiss brand that is already well established, with the obvious audacity to design beautiful handbags and accessories exclusively from eco-friendly materials. The collections are made of vegan materials such as apple skin, organic cotton or straw and raffia, natural and recycled materials and all certified. A chic and timeless style with vintage inspirations, that of the Hamptons, resort for the jet-set of the East Coast of the United States. We particularly liked the small NOMAD bag made of vegan AppleSkin, light, it can be carried everywhere and with ease, on the shoulder as well as on the shoulder strap.
LONGCHAMP
Le Pliage Energy
Another bag that has become a cult: LE PLIAGE by Longchamp, inspired by origami, this bag launched in 1993 that could be folded and slipped into a suitcase, is still very much appreciated for its multi-functional use and easy adaptation to one’s lifestyle. In this urban version, sustainable and respectful of natural resources, Le Pliage Energy in recycled ECONYL nylon, assumes a sporty, modern and practical style. The plain fabric contrasts with the details of the line, such as its logo zipper, the black and white recycled rope and the Longchamp label. A must-have to take everywhere!
