The Lindt story began in Zurich in 1845, when David Sprüngli and his son set up their first confectionery. But it was in 1879 that everything changed with the invention of melting chocolate by Rodolphe Lindt. This revolutionary process gave rise to a soft, melt-in-the-mouth texture that has become the house’s signature. The rest is history – a rich history that the museum skilfully brings to life.

Opening in 2020, the Lindt Home of Chocolate has been designed by the Lindt & Sprüngli Foundation to offer an educational, interactive and magical place. Its contemporary architecture houses a series of immersive galleries tracing the origins of cocoa, its arrival in Europe, the rise of chocolate in Switzerland, and Lindt’s own manufacturing secrets.
Highlights of the visit include :
The largest chocolate fountain in the world, 9 metres high, a true symbol of the house.

A free tasting trail, with unlimited fountains of Lindt chocolate.
Chocolate workshops, where you can learn how to make your own creations alongside the Master Chocolatiers.
The largest Lindt boutique in the world, with special editions, gift boxes and seasonal treats to delight chocolate lovers.
